Creating Wind Maps with Google
About a year ago two researchers used the power of Google to produce an interactive map which showed in great beauty the wind patterns across the United States of America, and now with the help of Rebecca Malamud from Point B Studio they have turned this map into a work of art. Data used in creating the maps was pulled from the National Weather Service’s Digital Forecast Service and many snaps were taken and used to create prints which reflect the complexity and intensity of weather across the country. You can see the interactive online map here or buy frame-worthy print over here! Included in the series of prints is a gorgeous snap of Hurricane Sandy.
